KATHMANDU:
The Legislature-Parliament meeting has been deferred till Sunday as the major parties could not agree upon the agenda of House business on Friday.
The main opposition party Nepali Congress had obstructed yesterday’s House demanding that the Constitution Amendment Bill be simultaneously tabled along with the Reconstruction Authority Bill.
The House was called for 3 pm this afternoon. It, however, could not start 6 pm.
The Parliament Secretariat later pasted a notice notifying the lawmakers that the House was deferred till 3 pm Sunday after the ruling parties, main opposition Nepali Congress and Madhes-based parties could not forge agreement on the agendas of House business.
Meanwhile, Vice-President of Nepali Congress and lawmaker Ram Chandra Paudel claimed that an understanding has been made to table both the bills in the House on Sunday.
